Multi component analysis
Often process analyzers are used. These analyzers use various classical analytical laboratory methods in sophisticated and complex designed apparatus. These devices allow the concentration determination of single components concentrations in a multi component blend.
These instruments have several limitations:
- high maintenance effort
- continuous consumption of chemicals
- non-continuous operation
The signals of the different sensors will be processed within a multidimensional model calculating the actual concentration of each component.
The LiquiSonic® analyzers combine the following measuring methods:
- sonic velocity and density
- sonic velocity and conductivity
- sonic velocity and refractive index
Example of use: neutralization of acid process waste water

For the control of such neutralization processes pH-sensors are often used. The performance of these sensors is less effective in higher process temperatures, or in the case of lye spill over. In such cases, the use of sonic velocity sensors together with a second physical value is recommended to achieve maximum plant safety together with minimized consumption of leach.
