Continuous information about the
concentration of each main component is required for optimal control
of process to ensure a high level of quality, efficiency and safety.
This is true for continuous as well as for batch processes.
Often process analyzers are used. These analyzers use various
classical analytical laboratory methods in sophisticated and complex
designed
apparatus. These devices allow the concentration determination of single components concentrations in a multi component blend.
These instruments have
several limitations: |
 |
| |
- High maintenance effort
- Continuous consumption of chemicals
- Non-continuous operation
|
 |
| |
A good alternative
solution is the SensoTech combination method. The LiquiSonic system
processes the signals of physical properties in a multi component
blend. This methods works without expensive sample devices and is
maintenance free and very durable.
The signals of the different sensors will be processed within a
multidimensional model calculating the actual concentration of
each component.
The LiquiSonic analyzers combine the following measuring methods:
|
 |
| |
- Sound velocity and density
- Sound velocity and conductivity
|
 |
| |
With
the application of multi component analyzers the customer can reduce
budgets dramatically because of the lower chemical costs and reduced
maintenance efforts. |

Neutralization of Acid
Process Waste Water (Caustic Soda / Caustic Chloride) |
 |
| |
 |
For
the control of such neutralization processes pH-sensors are often
used. The performance of these sensors is less effective in higher
process temperatures, or in the case of lye spill over.
In such cases, the use of sound velocity sensors together with
a conductivity sensor is recommended to achieve maximum plant safety
together with minimized consumption of caustic soda |

Control of Gas Absorbers
and Scrubbers |
 |
| |
 |
In such facilities, a
gas is absorbed by a liquid. The liquid has an optimal solubility
at a defined concentration.
While simultaneously measuring the concentration of the liquid and
the absorber (or of the liquid and the absorbed gas), the process
can be held at the optimal working point.
LiquiSonic analyzers are used for the following processes: |
 |
 |
| |
- Phosgene absorber
- Sulfur dioxide scrubber
- Benfield scrubber
- Ammonia facilities
- Synthesis gas facilities
- Crude oil scrubbers
