Crystal morphology, seeding point, supersaturation – these are key terms, when we speak about the monitoring of crystallizations in research and industry. In order to show the opportunities of sonic velocity measurement for analysis and control of such complex reactions, SensoTech held an informative workshop for interested companies and institutions in June 2010. Meeting place was the new company headquarters of SensoTech that left a lasting impression on participants through its extraordinary architecture. During the workshop, the participants received essential information about properties and technical application fields of the sonic velocity measurement as well as they were able to expand their knowledge about characteristics and correlation within the crystallization process. As a highlight reported Professor Dr.-Ing. J. Ulrich and Dr.-Ing. T. Stelzer from the Institute of Process Engineering at the University of Halle-Wittenberg to the topic “investigation of suspensions with ultrasonic in practice“. All participants benefited from a valuable exchange of experiences at a high level. In addition, a special focus was made on the ultrasonic analytical technology for determination of supersaturation in suspensions with the target to control the crystal growth. Against this background, the participants were presented product innovations, whose functionality could be investigated by practical applications and exercises in the laboratory.
A successful kick-off of workshop series – all participants agreed. The second workshop is planned in September. Interested parties can now place a reservation by e-mail to info@sensotech.com for participation.
